Valley receives traces of rain, skies to clear

Light rain arrived in the Valley on Thursday, but the skies are expected to be mostly clear for the rest of the week, the National Weather Service said.

The weather system brought .05 of an inch of rain in Fresno, .09 in Madera, .11 in Merced, and .15 in Los Banos.

Coalinga, Lemoore, Hanford and Bakersfield received traces of rain, said David Spector at the National Weather Service in Hanford.

The skies are expected to clear up by Thursday night, but there is a chance of rain on Sunday, Spector said.

Temperatures will reach a low of 60 degrees for the rest of the week, while the highs will stay in the 80s.

Spector said Fresno has received a total of 3.83 inches of rain since January.

Fresno received 6.97 of inches of rain during the rain season, which lasts from Oct. 1- Sept. 30.

The normal rainfall total for the rain season is 11.5 inches.
