Clovis police offer new app for residents
If you want to find out what Clovis police officers are doing … there’s an app for that.
Clovis police introduced a new app on Wednesday aimed at putting information about department activities at the fingertips of Clovis residents.
The app allows residents to get information about crime trends in their neighborhoods and allows police to alert residents of potential emergency situations. There also are news feeds for department press releases and information about people sought by police.
The app was put to use Wednesday for a missing 8-year-old child, Sgt. Jim Munro said.
“It takes most of the information we have and puts it out there in one place instead of having to search 12 different sites on the Internet,” he said.
The app is a free download available by typing in Clovis Police Department at the App Store.
