Clovis Police to meet with residents at community event Saturday
Residents will have an opportunity to meet with local police, sit in police vehicles and browse 90 food and vendor booths at Clovis Night Out on Saturday, the Clovis Police Department said.
The safety-oriented event is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sierra Meadows Park near Sierra and Temperance avenues.
Police personnel will offer information and sign-ups at a booth for the “Clovis Community Watch” neighborhood program, police said.
Along with police vehicles, those attending will be able to sit in the city’s large sanitation trucks and specialty vehicles.
The Clovis Fire Department will have engines on display and offer families an opportunity to operate a fire hose, police said. Children can participate in SWAT team demonstrations, use bounce houses and have their faces painted.
This community event is designed to bring friends and families together for an enjoyable evening with safety in mind, police said. A local band will perform and fireworks will close out the event.
More than 12,000 people attended the event last year.
