Arte Américas hosts fundraiser to repair sinking dance floor

The Arte Américas Concert Season Grand Finale & Fundraiser will take place Friday at the Arte Américas center in downtown Fresno to raise money to repair a sinking dance floor.

Arte Américas is the largest Latino cultural center in Central California. The sinking dance floor was discovered in August and needs $8,000 to $10,000 in repairs.

“When life gives you lemons, cut them up into wedges, chill some drinks, and invite everyone over for a dance party,” said Arte Américas Executive Director Frank Delgado. “We called in an all-star band from Los Angeles, rented a gigantic dance floor, and are planning to raise some money for the initial costs involved in the project.”

Entertainment will be provided by Ray Carrion and Thee Latin All Stars, which features members of legendary Latino rock bands from the 70s and 80s: El Chicano, Azteca, and Tierra.

Food will be provided by Tacos Mazatlan.

The fundraiser concert also marks the end of Arte Américas’ concert season, which began in late May.

Tickets are $20 in advance for “chair-only”, $35 members table seating, $45 non-members table seating and $75 for VIP seating.
