Pavement improvement forces lane closures on Highway 198 next week
A pavement rehabilitation project will close lanes on Highway 198 in Fresno and Kings counties next week, Caltrans said.
The closures, which will start Monday and last until Sept. 18, will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on Highway 198 between Avenue 25 (the Lemoore Naval Air Station main gate) and the South Rossi overpass (21st Avenue) will be reduced to one lane in each direction with lane closures alternating, and there is a possibility of one-way traffic if needed by the contractor.
Crews will also alternate lane closures of the left and right lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic on Highway 198 between 14th Avenue in Armona and 19th Avenue in Lemoore.
Ramps at 18th Avenue, Houston Avenue and 14th Avenue may be closed at various times during the day.
Driver should expect delays and be aware of construction workers on the roadway, Caltrans said.
