Highway 99 lanes closing next week
A construction project aimed at repairing concrete slabs and sealing cracks will close some lanes on Highway 99 next week, Caltrans said.
The project will begin Sunday at 9 p.m., and closures will occur in different areas each night until the morning of Sept. 17. The nightly closures will last until 5 a.m. the following morning.
Southbound Highway 99 on Sunday night will undergo lane closures from the Eldorado Street overpass to the Fresno Street overpass. The right and center lanes and the right shoulder will be closed.
On Monday night, southbound Highway 99 between the Manning Avenue underpass and the Clovis Avenue underpass will undergo closures in the right and center lanes, the right shoulder and the Clovis Avenue offramp.
On Tuesday night, northbound Highway 99 from the Chestnut Avenue overpass to Cedar Avenue will undergo closures in the right and center lanes and the right shoulder.
Northbound Highway 99 on Wednesday night will see closures of the right and middle lanes and the right shoulder between Cedar Avenue and Orange Avenue.
The schedule is subject to change depending on the needs of the construction crews.
Drivers should expect traffic delays in the affected areas, and Caltrans is encouraging the use of alternate routes whenever possible. Drivers should also be aware of construction workers who may be in the roadway.
