Fresno-area residents will see – and hear – more military aircraft as members of the California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing in Fresno joins with fighter jets visiting from Arizona for military exercises starting on Thursday.

Exercises run through Sept. 25 and will test the wing’s aircraft capabilities and the pilots’ combat flying skills.

National Guard officials warned that activity of military aircraft will increase from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
