Fresno Unified cancels outdoor activities, athletic practices

Fresno Unified School District on Wednesday canceled all outdoor activities, including recess and physical education.

The district said all activities will be moved indoors due to continued poor air quality and a forecast for a 105 degree heat index.

Athletics, including games and practices, also are canceled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The school district will continue to evaluate air quality daily during the heat spell this week.
