Squaw Valley man dies in Orange Cove crash

A 77-year-old Squaw Valley man died Wednesday in a collision near Orange Cove, the California Highway Patrol reported Friday.

The collision occurred about 5:30 p.m. as the man, who has yet to be identified, was eastbound on Manning Avenue approaching Hills Valley Road in a 1985 Nissan. The CHP said the driver failed to stop at the intersection with Hills Valley and collided with a 27-year-old Orange Cove man driving a 2000 Toyota southbound on Hills Valley.

The Nissan driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. The Toyota driver was taken to Reedley Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in each car was also hospitalized.
