Ag company extends deadline to raise funds for families affected by drought

GAR Tootelian, Inc. is challenging the Central Valley to help raise $100,000 to feed local families affected by the drought.

GAR, an agricultural company that provides crop care, compliance and water programs to more than 1,500 growers in the San Joaquin Valley, teamed up with Farm Credit West and KMJ Radio to broadcast live from “The Market” at Herndon and West Avenues on Sept. 1.

They hope to raise $100,000 to provide 500,000 meals to families in need, and have extended the deadline for donations to Friday.

Last year, GAR helped raise $70,000. More than 150 individuals and 15 local businesses and their employees joined GAR and the Community Food Bank last year.

For every $10 donated, GAR will match it with an additional $5. Contributions are being accepted now and can be made by calling GAR at 800-696-6108 or online at gtipros.com.
