Intersection of Clinton, Fruit avenues reopens after water main break

The intersection at Clinton and Fruit avenues in central Fresno has reopened after a water main ruptured early Monday morning.

It looks like a plug on old steel and cast iron water pipes blew, city spokesman Mark Standriff said. It took most of Monday to fix.

Traffic lights at the intersection will be set to four-way red flash until city crews can finish repaving the street later this week, Standriff said.
