Visalia man killed in solo vehicle accident

A Visalia man died early Sunday morning in a solo accident in Tulare County.

The California Highway Patrol said the 27-year-old was driving west at Mariposa Avenue and Avenue 280, west of Farmersville, about 5 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle overturned on the shoulder of the road and collided with a light pole, the CHP said.

The man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Alcohol appears to have been a factor, but the accident remains under investigation, the CHP said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was withheld until family can be notified.
