Two people who died in car crash near Caruthers identified
Two people who died in a car accident Friday near Caruthers have been identified.
Deputies said Wendy Handcock, 36, and Gabriel Garcia, 33, died after slamming into a power pole on the 7300 block of South Cornelia Avenue about 3 a.m. Their hometowns were not available Saturday.
A man in the area was able to rescue a baby from the car, which burst into flames, killing the two adults, deputies said.
