Update: Man missing in Clovis found safe

UPDATE: William De Young has been found and is safe, Clovis police announced late Thursday morning. There were no other details.

A 73-year-old man missing since Tuesday is the focus of a search by Clovis police.

William De Young lives with family in the 1700 block of Bullard Avenue. He suffers from dementia and has fainting spells. A Clovis police spokeswoman said De Young likes to go to a McDonald’s at Peach and Shaw avenues and return home. He sometimes takes a bus to the Fulton Mall to play chess.

De Young is 5-feet, 2-inches tall and 110 pounds with gray hair, brown eyes and and a tattoo on his right arm which reads “SJ.” He normally wears a hat, jeans and a t-shirt.
