Female hiker, 62, missing near Horseshoe Lake
Authorities are searching for a missing 62-year-old woman from Orangevale, near Sacramento, who became separated from her hiking group near Horseshoe Lake, located southeast of Mono Hot Springs.
Fresno County sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said deputies are in contact with the woman’s friends to determine where she was last seen.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter and the sheriff’s search-and-rescue team are conducting the search. The helicopter flew through the area but was not able to see the ground clearly because of the Rough fire. The search team is on ATVs and on foot.
