Fresno building to be named after founder of Chicano Youth Center
The public is invited to a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday for the naming of the Alfonso Hernandez Jr. Building.
The event will honor Alfonso Hernandez Jr., founder of the Chicano Youth Center in Fresno.
Hernandez died in January due to a heart attack.
Council Member Oliver Baines III and the Chicano Youth Center will host the event in collaboration with El Concilio de Fresno, the Housing Alliance and Valley LEAP.
Numerous community leaders will also be in attendance.
The ceremony will be held at the Dickey Youth Development Center, 1515 E. Divisadero St., Fresno.
