Golf course off Highway 41 north of Fresno finds new operator, will remain open
The popular golf course just north of Fresno along Highway 41 will remain open under new management, and it’ll have a new name.
Under a new partnership with CourseCo, the golf course facility currently known as Valley Golf Center will become named the Highway 41 Golf Center and will look to expand on recreation and youth programs at the nine-hole, par-3 course.
“Our new agreement with CourseCo allows us to build on a great legacy while ensuring the golf center continues to serve families throughout the Central Valley for years to come,” Valley Children’s Vice President of Facilities and Construction Kellie Dyer said in a news release.
The 59-acre course located just north of the River Park shopping area is owned by Valley Children’s Healthcare, which leases out the golf course area for a business to operate.
The golf course is perhaps best known and primarily used for its 300-yard driving range, which has high netting visible from traffic on adjacent Highway 41.
CourseCo has more than 35 years of experience operating community-focused golf facilities throughout the western United States, including Riverside Golf Course in Fresno and Valley Oaks Golf Course in Visalia.
CourseCo will take over for current operators Cindy Vining and Leila Lujan, who’ve elected to retire and have announced July 29 will be the last day of operations under its current name.
CourseCo will assume operations of Highway 41 Golf Center on Aug. 1.
“We are honored to partner with Valley Children’s,” CourseCo President and CEO Michael Sharp in a news release, “to build on the legacy of this property and create a place where people of all ages can learn, play, connect and experience the game of golf in a welcoming environment.”
