Fresno authorities identify man killed after driving off Highway 99 embankment
The man killed after striking two vehicles and crashing onto Highway 99 in Fresno has been identified.
Fresno County Coroner’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti said Zachary White, 35, of Clovis was killed in the crash.
The initial crash happened near Ventura Avenue and B Street around 11:30 a.m. Friday. Fresno police said White was traveling east on Ventura when he struck a car at B Street.
White continued driving and hit another car at C Street, police said.
Shortly after, White drove off an embankment, overturned and landed on Highway 99.
White was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators haven’t determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
The crash impacted traffic in the area amid the investigation.
