Fresno Unified is facing a lawsuit over a crash involving a school bus that occurred about seven months ago.

According to a complaint filed last month, Fresno Unified is being sued over a crash that happened at Van Ness Boulevard and Bullard Avenue on Dec. 9, 2025.

The lawsuit says the plaintiff, a minor, was injured in the crash. A Fresno Unified school bus driver is accused of rear-ending a delivery truck, the lawsuit states.

An article by YourCentralValley corroborates this account, though ABC30’s article on the crash says the school bus was rear-ended by the delivery truck.

Fresno CHP spokesperson Mike Salas did not respond to The Bee’s requests for the incident report.

The complaint accuses the district of negligence and says the plaintiff sustained injuries in the crash. The plaintiff is seeking damages and legal costs.

A case management conference has been set for Nov. 4.
