A pedestrian died Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle off the Highway 99 offramp in Fresno.

It happened just before 10 p.m. at Olive Avenue.

Fresno Police Lt. Justin Hoagland said the vehicle involved was exiting and had a green light when the pedestrian stepped into the crosswalk and got hit.

The pedestrian was conscious and breathing when officers arrived. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected.
