Drive-time talk show host out at Power Talk radio in Fresno after 10 years
Trevor Carey is out as drive-time talk show host at Power Talk radio in Fresno.
Carey confirmed to The Bee he is one of several layoffs that parent company iHeart Media made nationwide Wednesday. Radio Insight, which reported the national layoffs, said it is the biggest reduction in company workforce since 2020.
“It was almost like going to a living funeral. It is good to have hugs and hear how people really feel about you,” Carey said of his final day.
Carey spent 10 years as the 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. host, talking politics both local and national, with a conservative perspective. He previously talked in Modesto.
Listeners who want to reach out can contact Carey at trevor@americalatenight.com.
Carey delivered his last show Tuesday, heard on 96.7 FM and 1400 AM. The radio station already scrubbed his page on its website. He recently published an autobiography, talking about his career in radio, and overcoming addiction.
He replaced Christopher Gabriel, who currently works as morning news anchor at KMJ radio, in 2016.
On Wednesday, Power Talk aired the syndicated Houston, Texas-based “The Jesse Kelly Show,” in the former Carey timeslot.
