Want to go swimming this summer? Here’s when, where Fresno-area pools are open

School is out for the summer in Fresno and Clovis.

And what better way to enjoy the summer break than swimming.

But if you don’t have a pool of your own and neither does any of your family nor friends, where can you go for a swim?

Here’s a breakdown of swimming opportunities for the public this summer:

Standard pools in Fresno

Ages 3 and up are welcomed. Pool depth ranges from 4 to 10 feet

Frank H. Ball Pool

Address: 760 Mayor St.

Times: Monday-Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Mary Ella Brown Pool

Address: 1350 E. Annadale

Times: Monday-Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Mosqueda Pool

Address: 4670 E. Butler

Times: Monday-Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Hoover High pool

Address: 5550 N. First St.

Times: Beginning June 10 through July, the swimming pool is open Saturdays and Sundays, noon-5 p.m.

Fresno High pool

Address: 1839 N Echo Ave, Fresno, CA 93704

Times: Beginning June 10 through July, the swimming pool is open Saturdays and Sundays, noon-5 p.m.

McLane High pool

Address: 2727 N Cedar Ave.

Times: Beginning June 10 through July, the swimming pool is open Saturdays and Sundays, noon -5 p.m.

Roosevelt High pool

Address: 4250 E Tulare Ave, Fresno, CA 93702

Times: Beginning June 10 through July, the swimming pool is open Saturdays and Sundays, noon-5 p.m.

Central East High Aquatics Complex

Address: 3535 N. Cornelia Avenue

Times: Starting Saturday, the pool at Central East will be open to the public Tuesdays-Fridays (noon-6 p.m.) and on Saturdays (11 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Other info: Admission is $6 per person, whether swimming or not. Children 2 and under are free. Individual and family passes are available.

Clovis swimming pool availability

Though the city of Clovis does not have any public swimming pools, Clovis Unified provides open swim twice a week through mid-July.

General admission is $5. Children 12 and under are $3 (must have a paid adult with them).

Clovis West

Dates/times: June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15 (12:30-2:30 p.m. on each of those listed dates)

Clark Intermediate

Address: 902 5th St.

Dates/times: June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9 (12:30-2:30 p.m. on each of those listed dates)

Getting a little wet

If pool access for the little kids is what you’re really looking for, here’s a list of learner pools in Fresno. Depth range is 2 ½-5 feet, ages 5 to 12. No parents are allowed in learner pools.

Einstein Park

Address: 3566 E. Dakota Ave.

Fink White Park

Address: 535 S. Trinity

Pinedale Community Center

Address: 7170 N. San Pablo

Quigley Neighborhood Park

Address: 808 W. Dakota

Romain Neighborhood Park

Address: 745 N. First St.

And if swimming isn’t exactly what a child wants, but they want to get wet, the city of Fresno has eight parks that have splash pads that have been running daily since late May.

Splash pads run Monday through Sunday 10 a.m.- 8 p.m at the following locations:

  • Dickey Playground – 50 N. Calaveras St.
  • Figarden Loop Park – 4265 W. Figarden Dr.
  • Inspiration Park – 5770 W. Gettysburg Ave.
  • Martin Ray Reilly Park – 750 N. Chestnut Ave.
  • Melody Park – 5935 E Shields Ave.
  • Mosqueda Community Center – 4670 E. Butler Ave.
  • Todd Beamer Park – 1890 E. Plymouth Way
  • Fink White Park – 535 S. Trinity
