Demolition work will close one lane of G Street in downtown Fresno

Demolition work will close one northbound lane of G Street north of Fresno Street in downtown Fresno next week.

The buildings at 1248 and 1266 G Street are the former home of Paper Plus. Work tearing the buildings down is scheduled to start about 9 a.m. Monday, requiring crews to close one of the two northbound lane of G Street and the adjoining sidewalk between Merced and Fresno streets. The lane and sidewalk are expected to be reopened Friday, Aug. 25.

Northbound traffic will still be able to flow on the second lane, but drivers are urged to be careful in the work area. Southbound traffic on G Street will be unaffected.
