Fresno police cruiser involved in rollover crash while pursuing suspect
A Fresno police cruiser was involved in a rollover crash with a minivan while in a pursuit Tuesday night.
The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. near North and Cherry avenues. Officers were pursuing an attempted murder suspect from Los Angeles County east on North before crashing with the minivan, which rolled over.
Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said the crash reconstruction unit was assigned to figure out what happened.
No other vehicles were involved. The minivan was not the vehicle being pursued and the suspect vehicle continued to flee after the crash.
One man was inside the minivan, while two officers were in the cruiser, Price said. All three were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
Officers blocked off the intersection.
The suspect was ultimately apprehended at the Chevron gas station at Fresno Street and Highway 99.
