12-year-old, adult arrested in connection to Fresno stabbing, police say

Police have arrested a child and a 38-year-old following an assault in Fresno.

The child, 12, was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center, while the adult was booked in county jail.

The suspects were arrested in connection to an assault that happened near Shields and Valentine avenues about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

A 15-year-old victim was assaulted and left with a possible concussion. Another victim, 19, was stabbed in the groin and upper torso.

Both victims are in stable condition, and police say a disturbance occurred before the assault.

It’s unclear if the child and adult suspects are related.
