Update: 68-year-old killed after getting hit by car crossing Fresno intersection ID’d

A pedestrian died Tuesday afternoon after a car hit him at a Fresno intersection.

Fresno police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said officers responded to a call of a hit pedestrian at First Street and Ashlan Avenue around 1 p.m.

The man died at the scene.

The victim was identified on Wednesday as Donald Burkes, 68, of Fresno.

The driver remained on scene and police are investigating.
