CHP vehicle sparks blaze near Visalia
A California Highway Patrol vehicle sparked a quarter-acre grass fire inadvertently when the officer stopped to check on minor accident and exhaust or the hot metal of a catalytic converter ignited dry grass on Highway 198 west of Visalia.
No one was hurt, the CHP said.
Visalia Fire Department and Tulare County Fire Department firefighters put out the blaze. The incident occurred about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
