Two people, five pets dead after fire in Fresno retirement community

Two people are dead after a fire broke out in a Fresno retirement community.

Joshua Sellers, spokesperson for the Fresno Fire Department, said officials responded to reports of a fire at Willow Court near Willow and Butler avenues about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Sellers said two people, along with four cats and a dog, were found dead at the scene.

The fire department is working with the Fresno Police Department to identify the two victims. Officials are waiting on the autopsy report to determine the cause of death.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
