Kaweah Delta Health Care District appoints board member

Herbert Hawkins has been appointed to the board of directors of Kaweah Delta Health Care District.

Hawkins was appointed by the board to fill the vacant Zone 1 position.

He will serve the remainder of the term and is eligible to run for election in November 2016 to fill a four-year term.

Four candidates were interviewed for the vacancy by the board of directors and Hawkins was chosen because his “specific experience and qualifications were most relevant to the board’s needs,” an announcement said.

Hawkins, a banker, has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s executive management program, and of the California State University, Fresno banker’s management program.

He is president and director of Kaweah Management Co. Tulare County Housing Authority, and of the Tulare County Public Facilities Corp.
