An 11-year-old on an electic bicycle was injured Wednesday after being struck by a pickup truck in Fresno County.

The collision occurred at 4:24 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln and Lily avenues near Easton.

The California Highway Patrol said a 42-year-old driver was traveling west on Lincoln , east of Lily , in a Chevrolet Silverado at 20 to 25 mph. At the same time, the juvenile was riding an electric bike north on Lilly and entered the intersection, directly into the path of the truck.

The front of the truck struck the right side of the bike, ejecting the rider onto the roadway.

The bike became wedged underneath the truck, which came to rest along the north curb.

The child landed in the westbound lane of Lincoln and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate to major injuries, including possible broken bones, CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said.

The incident remains under investigation.
