Man struck, killed by car near San Joaquin Memorial High in Fresno, police say

A man died after he was struck by a car near Fresno’s San Joaquin Memorial High School on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Fresno Street, just south of McKinley Avenue, around 5:45 a.m. on reports of a pedestrian who had been hit by vehicle.

According to police, an adult male was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Media outlets are reporting the man was unhoused. At least one lane of Fresno Street was closed as the investigation into the crash continued mid-morning Tuesday.
