The Kings County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a person found Tuesday morning near the city of Corcoran under suspicious circumstances.

According to the Sheriff’s office, deputies responded at approximately 7:15 a.m. to a report of a body found in a rural area south of Corcoran.

The individual had “obvious signs of trauma,” according to media release.

Information regarding circumstances of the person’s death, description of the victim such as gender or age as well as the area where the person was found, have not been released by detective who are working the case.
