Update: Fresno man killed after getting hit by car at Clinton/Brawley identified
A pedestrian who had been walking on a sidewalk then stepped into the roadway was struck and killed Monday night in the area west of Highway 99.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. just north of the intersection of Clinton and Brawley avenues.
Fresno police said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Brawley. Emergency medical personnel performed CPR. But the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.
The victim was identified Tuesday by the Fresno County Coroner’s office as Jose Antonio, 53, of Fresno.
The driver was cooperative and remained at the scene, police said.
There was no evidence of drugs or alcohol.
