What about Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day?
Here’s what to know:
Which holidays will affect trash pickup in Fresno?

If your trash is normally picked up on Thursday, you’ll see the garbage truck on Friday instead, the city explained.
“All Friday trash pick-up will be shifted to Saturday,” the city said its Facebook post.

Customers who normally have their garbage picked up on Thursday will get trash hauled away on Friday, Dec. 26, instead.
Meanwhile, the city will delay waste collection normally scheduled for Friday to Saturday, Dec. 27.

Do I have to sort my trash in Fresno?
The city of Fresno has required residents to separate their trash into three separate bins since 2022, The Fresno Bee previously reported.
The blue container is for recyclable materials including aluminum cans, glass containers, cardboard, and juice cartons, according to the Cleanup Fresno County website.
The green container is for organic waste including food scraps and yard trimmings, and the gray garbage container is for all other trash.
There are no penalties for sorting trash and recycling incorrectly, according The Bee’s archives.
What are the rules for putting away garbage bins?
That changes when it comes to putting your bins back, though.
Residents can face fines between $50 and $200 for failing to put their bins away in an appropriate amount of time.
Garbage bins can be placed on the curb after 6 p.m. the day before trash pickup, and must be out there no later than 5:30 a.m. on the day your trash is typically collected.
Bins must be “put away and out of view from the street” no later than 8 p.m. on the day it’s collected, the city said.
“Carts left out on non-service days not only create an unsightly appearance in our neighborhoods, but they can also be a safety hazard or can be stolen if left out,” the city said on its website.
If you’re late to place your cart at the curb and miss your service more than two times, a skip fee may appear on your utility bill, the city said.
If a trash bin is broken, it can be replaced through the FresGo app or city website by submitting a request for a replacement container.
