The search for 65-year-old Ron Dailey of Selma continued Monday after he went missing Oct. 13 when he told family he was headed to the Shaver Lake/Courtright Reservoir area in Fresno County.

Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig shared an update on Monday on social media that the search for Dailey involved up to 50 personnel on the ground and multiple aircraft flying using infrared and other technology to search. Drones are also being used, he wrote, and the search area is 280 square miles.

Deputies are being assisted by personnel from other counties, as well.

Deputies said Dailey left the morning of Oct. 13 and was supposed to be back home in the evening, but has not been heard since.

A winter storm hit the area that night and the next day, with snow in the higher elevations of the area.

Deputies said that when Dailey is hunting, he travels down small roads and dirt paths off Dinkey Creek Road and McKinley Grove Road.

His vehicle has not been found, deputies said.

Dailey is 5-foot-7 and 190 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown hair and a beard. Deputies said he has underlying medical conditions.

Dailey was driving a silver, four-door, 2002 Dodge Dakota with California license plate 16028S2.

Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Dailey or his pickup truck is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 559-600-3111. Deputies advised to not post tips on social media as they may not be seen by the people directly involved in the search.
