Kings County names Human Services Agency director

Sanja Kovacevic Bugay has been named director of the Kings County Human Services Agency, beginning Sept. 7.

Bugay replaces longtime director Peggy Montgomery, who retired after heading the agency for 14 years.

Bugay has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and managerial economics from the University of California at Davis, and a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, Fresno.

She has worked most recently as a deputy director of the Fresno County Social Services Department.

In Kings County, she will oversee an agency that has an $80 million annual operating budget and 390 full-time positions.
