A Grocery Outlet in Fresno is relocating. Where and when will it move?
The Grocery Outlet location at Blackstone and Ashlan will close Tuesday.
The discount grocery store will relocate to a new shop at 2990 E. Nees Ave. on the border with Clovis.
Luis and Cristina Ramirez operate the store at 1825 E. Ashlan Ave. and are offering all items for sale. The Ramirez family will also manage the new Nees site upon its opening.
The Ashlan store has held a liquidation sale since June 8, now offering all items at 50% off.
Grocery Outlet’s last day at that location will be June 24, according to the owners. The Nees location will open July 17, according to a Facebook post.
The new Grocery Outlet location will replace a Rite Aid store, which closed in 2022 as its parent company cut costs ahead of a bankruptcy declaration. Rite Aid also shuttered a store at East Shields Avenue in 2024, and it will close the lights on another one at West Shields Avenue on Monday.

The company’s stores are usually owned and operated by local families.
There are three other Grocery Outlet locations in Fresno and one in Clovis.
The retailer offers foods and household items at steep discounts. To get these products, each location sources like most other stores but prioritizes brands with packaging changes or extra products.
According to Grocery Outlet’s website, stores then price these products at or below the lowest local price.
