Missing woman found dead in Fresno County, Turlock police report
A woman who went missing May 2 in Newman was found dead in Selma in Fresno County, the Turlock Police Department said Monday night.
The Selma Police Department notified Turlock police that it was investigating the discovery of a deceased person.
Turlock police said the person matched the description of 44-year-old Kelsy Ramos. Detectives from the Stanislaus County city traveled to Selma and confirmed Ramos’ identity.
Both agencies ruled out foul play at the scene.
The Selma Police Department will continue leading the death investigation, and the official cause of death will be determined pending coroner and toxicology reports.
Ramos’ family was notified, police said. “To Kelsy’s family, friends, and loved ones — our hearts are with you. We ask our community to join us in lifting them up during this incredibly difficult time,” the Turlock Police Department posted on Facebook.
Ramos was last seen by family members around 10:30 a.m. May 2 in Newman. By 10:55 a.m., she was reportedly in Turlock, driving her white 2017 Nissan Versa near Fulkerth Road and Countryside Drive. Later that day, at 3:23 p.m., her vehicle was confirmed to be in Fresno on West Shaw Avenue.
She was reported missing to Turlock police at 3:39 p.m. the same day.
A Facebook group titled “Finding Kelsy Ramos” was created by Ramos’ mother, Teri Ramos, to aid in the search and has already gained nearly 2,000 followers. A missing-person flyer shared in the group notes that Ramos took blood pressure medication, which she did not have with her.
