Horse falls into well in Orosi, is rescued by firefighters

Firefighters rescued a horse from an old well on Road 128 and Avenue 412 in Orosi on Sunday.

The horse weighed approximately 1,000 pounds and fell into a 16-foot-deep hole filled with sewage.

The Tulare County Fire Department was alerted and arrived at the home at 3:30 p.m. along with firefighters from Visalia and Dinuba.A crane was brought to the scene to help in the rescue.

After over an hour being trapped, the horse was lifted out of the hole at 4:30 p.m.

The property owner was the owner of the horse.
