Fresno man arrested after calls of reckless driver lead police to loaded gun
Fresno police arrested a man Saturday night after receiving calls about drivers racing in the Pinedale neighborhood and finding a loaded gun inside his car.
Around 10:45 p.m., Fresno Police Department received several calls about a reckless driver near Ingram and Beechwood avenues. One caller said multiple vehicles were racing up and down the street. Another said one vehicle was burning out and spinning donuts in the middle of the street.
Officers saw 24-year-old Jahvonni Bell standing next to a Chevrolet Camaro in the carport area of an apartment complex. Bell told officers he was not involved in the reckless driving and didn’t know who the Camaro belonged to.
Police determined Bell was the registered owner of the Camaro. They spotted loaded firearm in the driver’s side door pocket.
Bell was booked into Fresno County Jail and faces several criminal charges, including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and being in possession of a firearm not registered to him.
