Grand opening in Fresno for playground on Almy Avenue
Almy Avenue’s new playground is having its grand opening at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with food, arts and crafts and a live DJ.
In addition to play equipment, the playground and its park offers trees and grass, picnic benches and a canopy for sun protection.
The playground at 225 W. Almy Avenue was announced on Fresno’s Habitat for Humanity website when it was awarded a $119,731 grant from Wells Fargo to pay for its construction. Cargill Meat Solutions will maintain the park for its first three years, according to Habitat’s website.
