Update: Boyfriend arrested on suspicion of murdering woman found in Fresno home
The boyfriend of a 41-year-old woman who died Wednesday after she was found unresponsive in her Fresno home has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
In an update Thursday, detectives with the Fresno Police Department identified the victim as Angel Hoban.
She was found unresponsive by her 12-year-old son when he came home from school just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers arrived to the home in the 4000 block of East Olive Avenue and discovered Hoban on the floor with blood near her chest and head. Homicide detectives said Hoban was stabbed several times to her upper torso.
Fresno Police Lt. Paul Cervantes on Thursday said officers arrested Michael Gonzales Gay, who they believe was responsible for killing Hoban.
Cervantes said Gonzales Gay was arrested after officers responded to a separate call involving a disturbance with another man several blocks away from the scene of the killing.
Cervantes said Hoban and Gonzales Gay were dating for four months and that he had been released from prison recently and was on parole for robbery.
Gonzales Gay was living in the home with the 12-year-old and a 5-year-old, but they weren’t his children with Hoban.
