National Night Out celebrates police-community partnerships
People all over the central San Joaquin Valley on Tuesday evening joined the National Night Out movement.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign, held on the first Tuesday of August, that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Block parties, cookouts and other neighborhood-oriented events are intended to help foster a spirit of cooperation.
Tuesday in Fresno, Police Chief Jerry Dyer toured the city, visiting events at the Stoney Brook Apartments in southeast Fresno, Quigley Park in central Fresno, Eldorado Park in northeast Fresno and Frank H. Ball Neighborhood Center in southwest Fresno.
