Human body parts found near Fresno bridge. Police believe victim was hit by a train

A person walking Thursday morning found human body parts near a railroad bridge in Fresno.

Officers went to the location after receiving a call at 9:30 a.m. from a person who said they were walking in the area of Herndon and Sante Fe avenues and saw body parts along the bridge, police said.

Officers found the body parts in the area of Bluff and Sante Fe avenues

Police believed the deceased person was struck by a train.

Fresno police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said they don’t know anything about the victim and were continuing to canvas the area.

BNSF is handling the investigation, police said.
