Camp Nelson meeting set to discuss Cabin Fire

The U.S. Forest Service will hold a meeting Monday to provide community members with information on the Cabin Fire in the Sequoia National Forest east of Springville.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Camp Nelson Fire Station, 1500 Nelson Drive in Camp Nelson.

The California Interagency Incident Management Team 1 will host the meeting and provide the public with information on suppression efforts, the U.S. Forest Service said. Fire management representatives will provide an update on the fire’s activity and be available to answer questions.

As of Sunday, the lightning-sparked fire had burned more than 2,600 acres in the Golden Trout Wilderness.
