Lathrop woman, child hurt in Porterville crash

A Lathrop woman sustained major injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle crash west of Porterville, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 10:50 a.m. as Yeraldin Navarette, 21, was westbound on Highway 190 approaching Road 200 in a Ford. Peter Dutton, 68, of Springville, was behind Navarette in a Toyota. The CHP said Navarette steered to the right toward Road 200 and then back to the left, into the path of Dutton, who crashed into the driver’s side of the Ford. A 5-year-old boy in the Ford also sustained major injuries. Dutton was not hurt.
