Alaska Airlines adds flights from Fresno to Guadalajara. Where else can you fly in Mexico?

Alaska Airlines recently launched seasonal non-stop service from Fresno to Guadalajara, joining a number of airlines already offering flights to the Mexican city.
The airline’s first flight from Fresno Yosemite International Airport to Guadalajara International Airport departed on Tuesday, Dec. 3, The Fresno Bee previously reported.
“This exciting addition brings families and friends closer for the holidays while showcasing the progress at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, including the ongoing terminal expansion,” Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said in a Tuesday news release. “We’re looking forward to even more growth in the year ahead.”
The Fresno airport ranks fourth in the nation in terms of the number of passengers flying from the United States to Guadalajara, according to Vikki Calderon, the airport’s media and public relations officer.
The new Alaska Airlines flight “comes just in time for the busy winter travel period when additional service is needed,” Calderon said in the release.
Which airlines offer direct flights from Fresno to Mexico?
Although Mexicana de Aviacion suspended flights from Fresno to Mexico in 2010, Aeromexico began offering nonstop service from the Central Valley city to Guadalajara and other major Mexican cities in 2011.
Other airlines that fly from Fresno to Mexican destinations include United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Volaris.
Most of those are direct flights.
Alaska Airlines adds daily flights to Guadalajara
The state capital of Jalisco, Guadalajara is one of Mexico’s largest metropolitan cities. It’s been Fresno’s sister city since 2022.
Guadalajara is known for its “impressive architecture, murals, folk art, medical schools and medical tourism,” Calderon said.
Alaska Airlines’ new flight, which will be available on a seasonal basis, departs from Fresno at 11:35 p.m. and lands in Guadalajara at 5 a.m.
The flight is expected to take three hours and 25 minutes.
A one-way ticket cost $246 as of Wednesday, Dec.4.
When will daily flights be available?
Alaska Airlines will offer daily service between Fresno and Guadalajara through Feb. 12, 2025, the release said.

Which other airlines offer nonstop flights to Guadalajara?
Aeromexico offers one daily non-stop flight from Fresno to Guadalajara that departs at 11:55 p.m. and arrives in Guadalajara at 5:28 am.
The flight typically takes three hours and 33 minutes.
As of Wednesday, Dec. 4. a one-way ticket was priced at $418.
Volaris offers three different non-stop flights from Fresno to Guadalajara on a daily basis .
One flight departs from Fresno at 12:50 a.m. and arrives in Guadalajara at 6:15 am.
Another flight departs one hour later, at 1:50 a.m. and gets into the Mexican city at 7:15 am.
A third flight from Volaris takes off from Fresno at 11:50 p.m. and arrives in Guadalajara at 5:15 a.m.
Each flight usually takes three hours and 25 minutes.
One-way tickets cost about $665, as of Wednesday.
Can I fly to other Mexican cities from Fresno?
Volaris offers a direct flight to Morelia a city which is located about 200 miles west of Mexico City and another one to Leon located in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato. Both flights cost $674 for a one-way ticket.
The Morelia flight, which typically lasts four hours and six minutes, departs from Fresno at 10:54 p.m. and arrives at 1 a.m.
Another Volaris flight takes off from Fresno at 3:50 a.m. and arrives in Leon around 9:11 a.m. That flight usually lasts three hours and 21 minutes.
Delta flies to Cancun in the state of Quintana Roo for $800. The airline offers nonstop and multi-stop flight options.
American Airlines offers $548 flights from Fresno to Mexico City with layovers in cities including Los Angeles and Dallas.
Passengers can hop a United Airlines flight from Fresno to Mexico City for $568.
