Will it rain in Fresno on Halloween? Here’s the forecast for trick-or-treating and beyond
Ghouls and ghosts won’t be the only ones coming out to play on Halloween.
You might spot some rain drops as well.
Rain is on its way to the Fresno area as soon as Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
“There is the probability of at least 0.10 inch of precipitation for select locations in the Central Valley through early next week,” the agency said in an X post. “The best chances will be for this weekend.”
“That will ... reinforce the cooling trend we’ve been expecting, and we will see temperatures continue to trend between five and eight degrees below normal,” said Andrew Bollenbacher, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford.

Wednesday was expected to be sunny with a high temperature near 68 and calm winds, according to the National Weather Service’s latest forecast.
The low temperature for Wednesday will be around 47 degrees, the weather service said
There’s a 20% chance of rain on Thursday before 11 a.m.
The day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 65 and wind gusts as high as 15 mph.
Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 45 and winds around 5 mph.

Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 65 and a low around 51.
There’s a 50% chance of rain after 11 p.m. on Friday night.
“A stronger storm system is projected to come through Central California on Saturday,” Bollenbacher said. “We’ll be looking at higher chances of precipitation with that system, in particular, in the San Joaquin Valley.”
He said that “a quarter of an inch up to a half an inch of rain is conceivable.”
On Saturday, there is an 80% chance of precipitation before 11 a.m, with rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch.
The high will be near 61, while the overnight low will be around 47.
“Up in the Sierra Nevada (at elevations) above 6,000 feet, a few inches of snow are definitely within the cards of probability,” Bollenbacher said. “We could see some higher totals near (Yosemite) National Park.”
On Saturday night, there’s a 50 percent chance of rain.
How long will rain last?
Sunday will still have a 30% percent chance of rain before 11 a.m.
The day will be mostly sunny with a high near 63, while Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low around 43.
“We’ll be looking at that system exiting the area as we go through the night on Saturday,” Bollenbacher said. “Dry conditions will prevail Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.”
He said the Fresno area could see “afternoon highs start to rebound closer to near normal,” especially by Tuesday.
Monday will be sunny, with a high near 64 and a low around 45.
Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 68.
