A 74-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno.

Officers responded to Blackstone and Spruce just after 3 a.m. and found the pedestrian in the roadway, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified Monday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Gloria Garcia, 74, of Fresno.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative, police said.

He told officers he was traveling southbound on Blackstone in the No. 1 lane and had a green light before the collision.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor.
