The city of Fresno is hiring.
Multiple full-time and part-time positions are available across a variety of departments, including utilities, public works and informational services.
The city provides benefits for full-time employees, including life insurance, medical insurance, retirement plans and educational incentive pay.

Airports planning manager | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Airports
- Salary: $9,483 to $11,554 per month
The airports planning manager is responsible for administrating Federal Aviation Administration regulations, as well as developing and managing programs related to facility planning, capital improvement projects, federal grant management, environmental planning, security requirements and noise reduction.
The planning manager also coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, and provides “highly responsible and complex administrative support” to the Fresno’s director of aviation the city said.

Fleet manager | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Transit
- Salary: $8,622 to $10,503 per month
The fleet manager is responsible for planning, organizing and leading a team in light-duty and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair. They can successfully lead and empower employees within a fleet operation.

Licensed engineer manager | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Public Works
- Salary: $12,564 to $15,308 per month
The licensed engineer manager is responsible for managing the activities of the Fresno Public Works Department’s Land Planning Section, as well as review and approval of development project conditions and interaction with other city departments, the Planning Commission, City Council and outside agencies.
The manager also manages staff.

Network systems specialist | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Information Services
- Salary: $6,781 to $8,184 per month
The network systems specialist installs, configures, monitors and maintains the city’s data networking infrastructure; as well as analyzing and modifying overall network operations.
The specialist will serve the Fresno Transit Department but report to the city’s Information Services Department.
Historic preservation architect | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Planning and Development
- Salary: $9,001 to $10,925 per month
The historic preservation architect designs and coordinates plans and specifications for new building construction, building alterations and capital improvement projects.
The architect also reviews structural architectural plans for complex buildings and performs plan checks for commercial interior alterations related to fire, life, health and safety requirements.
Other duties include providing lead direction and training to lower-level personnel and administering local economic incentives.

Paralegal | Permanent, full-time
- Department: City Attorney’s Office
- Salary: $5,432 to $6,573 per month
The paralegal dives into a diverse range of responsibilities from preparing crucial legal documents and managing high-stakes litigation to conducting impactful investigative work and representing the city before administrative bodies.

Wastewater environmental supervisor | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Utilities
- Salary: $7,550 to $9,146 per month
Under the direction of the wastewater manager, the wastewater environmental supervisor coordinates and ensures excellence in environmental management.
With direct supervision over staff, the supervisor oversees and advances daily endeavors.

Senior account clerk | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Various departments
- Salary: $3,664 to $4,392 per month
The senior account clerk performs a wide variety of work, including preparing accounts payable vouchers, requisitions for purchase orders, journal entries and reconciliations.
The clerk also maintains complex financial and statistical records, and prepares departmental payroll.
The senior account clerk may provide lead direction to other clerical staff.

Parks supervisor II | Permanent, full-time
- Department: Public Works
- Salary: $6,462 to $7,823 per month
The parks supervisor plans, schedules and coordinates assigned programs of the Public Works Department and Parks, After School and Recreation & Community Services Department.
That includes the maintenance and repair of parks, landscaped areas and recreation facilities.

Fire prevention inspector | Permanent | full-time
- Department: Fire Department
- Salary: $4,726 to $5,685 per month
Under supervision, the fire prevention inspector inspects, examines, evaluates and approves the construction or alteration of fire safety systems.
The inspector also approves the construction or alteration of buildings, structures and properties for fire hazards and compliance with local fire ordinances and state laws.
